About Me

sitting by the window, listening to the radio when i was nine years old, i prayed my first honest prayer to God before i even knew who he really was.  i wanted to be able to sing and perform in front of people.  i had no idea what that one prayer would do to my life.  when i was 13 years old, i was saved after learning who God really was.  a year later, i was granted the gift of music and found myself leading worship for both adult and youth services.  one day after leading worship and walking to the back of the church, that prayer that i had prayed years ago came back into memory.  i remember where i was sitting, what i was listening to (i can’t tell you because its embarrassing), and what the weather was like that day.  God has answered the prayer to be able to sing and perform, except that the audience was Him, and everyone in the room was just joining in the praises which i was only leading.  there was no performance.  He took my simple prayer and made it better then i could ever imagine…. but doesn’t it always work that way?

i spent the next 15 years of my life leading people in worship while completing seminary and taking various other ministry positions from youth pastor to senior pastor.  leading worship was the only constant during that time.  in 2005 after some devastating events in my life including hurricane katrina, i took some time off from ministry so i can work some things out with God that i needed too.  in 2007, i started to feel God calling me back and i must admit, it wasn’t easy to answer but i did.  but since He is God, he took care of that also and put people in my life to help me along.

i spent eight years of my life learning the textbook God through seminary, and although that is a good foundation, i want to spend the rest of my life learning the God of the bible. i am currently serving as the youth pastor at journey christian church.
